A Great Message ( NIMH, India)

It was a sports stadium.
Eight children were standing on the track to participate in the running event.
* Ready! * Steady! * Bang!!!

With the sound of  the Toy pistol, all eight girls started running.

Hardly did they cover ten to fifteen steps, one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down. She was bruised and crying with pain.

When the other seven girls heard this sound; they stopped running, stood for a while and turned back. They all ran back to the place where the ' smaller girl' fell down.

One among them bent, picked and kissed the girl gently and inquired 'Now pain must have reduced? '.
All seven girls lifted the fallen girl, pacified her. Two of them held the girl firmly and then all seven joined hands together and walked together and reached the winning post.

Officials were shocked. Adulation from thousands of spectators filled the stadium.

Many eyes were filled with tears and perhaps it had reached GOD even.

YES. This happened in Hyderabad [ INDIA ], recently!

The sport was conducted by National Institute of Mental Health.

All these special girls had come to participate in this event and they all are " Mentally Challenged"

What did they teach this world?

Teamwork?

Humanity?

Equality among all?????
TAKE AWAY message...
"Successful people should help others who are slow in learning so that they dont feel that they are far behind.

spread it!

  2. This is a great incident that I've loved to read again and again... I'd like to support it by the "maharishi" model of education (ref. Incredibly Believable by Dr. Sunny Satin). Just giving a rough summary... you should read the book - - take for ex a class with 100 students. all hundred of them want to top the class. so to every positive thought of wanting to come first there are 99 negative thoughts to counter it. the result is inhumane competition, suicides etc... In the maharishi model a class of hundred students would be promoted only if all the hundred pass. the result - all the bright ones help the weak ones and generate 100 times the positivity, without undermining the importance of the hardwork.. think about it.

  3. Mayur - Thank you sincerely for your comment. I am looking forward to collecting "Our" thoughts and expressively presenting it to the "World". I really liked your blog "Intellect" as well. It just truly you.

This story specially touched my heart just pondering over the fact that, " we still do not find such people in number of 8 at once in our normal lives". Lets stop our "Race Course" life for a minute and think, " are the really content and happy with what we do everyday?

Then my head/heart wants me to begin this very day in being not " the 8's in number" but at least in being that "just 1 person" in those 8 who has the ability to bring a smile to even handful of people around me.

  4. Pankhuri- Thank you for your comment. Its nice to see you express in a great manner what has been done and can be done to achieve mental peace of mind; even if one wants to or not.

The people who have experienced the " Takeaway message" in their own life's and at their own pace; would find it comforting to re-live this thought once again.

  6. Andrew... thank you.. I agree with you... the whole world cannot be like this... but even I may not be like this always.... its human nature... but at least bringing out the effort to hear it and implanting these thoughts in one's mind.. is the effort.. well achieved...
